Brown leather over boards, banded spine, 2 books vol. 1 & 2, both books heavy with foxing, both have writing to front endpapers and flypapers, covers are very worn, corners rounded, vol 1 missing back cover, front cover tied on,some pages have tiny fold to bottom corner,vol 2 missing front cover, back cover tied on, last few pages loose. John Newton was the writer of the famous church hymn, AMAZING GRACE.
