facsimile of first edition in 1889, 7 1/2 inches, 101 pages, illustrations, brown cloth over boards with black illustration and title on front board, illustrated dustjacket. Spine cocked, page edges and endpapers lightly foxed, contents fine; jacket shelfworn, edges worn and chipped, rear panel dampstained, faintly foxed. Darius Cook was a young newspaperman when his doctor told him, "Go live with the Indians, sleep in their wigwams, live as they live, and the chances are you will recover." Cook records his account of how he and James Rhodes followed the doctor's advice.
