Margaret Prescott Montague England to America Doubleday Page, New York 1920 First edition thus Hardcover Collectible: Good Hardcover Signed signed photograph of author pasted on blank folowing introduction by John Drinkwater, 7 inches, 56 pages, green paper and cloth over boards with black titles. Boards slightly edgeworn, corners of front board lightly bumped, cloth backstrip browned, front hinge weak and webbing visible, ink name and date on front fixed endpaper, contents very good. Prescott was the pseudonym of Jane Steger (1878-1955) of West Virginia. First published in the September 1918 issue of the "Atlantic Monthly," this story won first prize in the nation's first O'Henry Awards, and also appeared in the initial volume of that series--featuring all the prize stories of 1919.
