Bound together with "Hern Bishop's Guardian: A Story of Railroading in the Great Northwest" by Coe Hayne with two full-page illustrations. This copy was given to Burton by his teacher, who inscribed it "A right merry Christmas I wish you heartily" and wrote a quotation from Abraham Lincoln on the rear endpaper. Beige cloth over flexible boards with brown decoration and lettering plus a color pictorial die cut and pasted on front board. Cover has edge wear, frayed extremities, soil, backstrip split from top to bottom, contents are good+ with weakened hinges. va
